The inside of each book is in pristine untouched condition. The leather covers are in excellent condition. There is very little sign of handling, if any, and no loss of gold. Linen Covered Slipcases; The pictures in this listing show the front and back covers of all 20 volumes. The gilt edges of the books are all shown in the pictures provided. They are in excellent condition. The slipcases have no damage and no staining.
One book has the signature of the previous owner, a big game hunter in his own right (see last picture). I noted that the book "Cruises in the Bering Sea" has a spot on the edge of the back cover where there is an abrasion of the leather, but not very conspicuous.
