Problem: I can't see a trail on the map
Check if you have network access. Launch Safari and browse to http://google.com. If you can't browse the internet, then your device may not have network access. Use the Apple troubleshooting guide to resolve any network issues.
Ensure the tracker has been selected to view on the map by going into the Trackers screen. Locate the tracker and tap the Eye button until it turns blue. If the Eye button is gray, the trackers trail will not appear on the map.
If the tracker has not been used in a while, there may not be any new trail points to show on the map. Turn the Spot or inReach on for a while and let it send a few position reports for about 30 minutes. Then look at the Spot Buddy map to see if the trail appears.
See How To: Determine if the Sharing Website is Valid. If the website share you are using does not work in a web browser, then it will not work in Spot Buddy.
How To: Determine if the Sharing Website is Valid
Using the share website, open it using Safari on your iPad or iPhone.
A share website address will look something like these examples:
If you are prompted for a password, ensure you know what the password is. The password will also have to be added to the trackers configuration in the app.
If you can see the persons trail on the map then the website address is valid.
Otherwise the share website may not be configured correctly. Ask the person to check the configuration to ensure sharing is enabled. If the tracking device is yours, visit the SPOT or Garmin websites for more information.
