Lizzie's all about bringing people together, helping them learn, and making things happen. She's a certified facilitator and learning experience designer, working with groups worldwide to build better societies, sustainable landscapes, and eco-friendly policies.
Her adventures have taken her to Africa and back, from supporting young entrepreneurs in Tanzania with Raleigh International to boosting reproductive health initiatives across the continent with FP2020/2030. She's also shared her skills with big names like WWF and UNDP, tackling wildlife trafficking and promoting community-based conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
Lizzie's not new to volunteering and fundraising, regularly engaging when something captures her imagination, whether it's researching sustainable living in arid areas in Spain, slinging drinks at a music festival, organising events to spread great ideas, or raising money for charities through sporting endeavours.
Whilst she seems to spend more time running the kids to and from training sessions and supporting them at matches than doing sport herself, she still manages to make some time to get out there and hit the trails and swim in icy waters, and has recently taken up rowing to bounce back from shoulder surgery.
Matthew’s life and career have centred around education and coaching, hospitality and business, family and sport. Football has been a long-standing passion for him, from playing to refereeing Junior B and Junior C matches, and becoming a certified sports coach in 2018. Since then, he's been actively involved in coaching football for local clubs, starting with the Junior Fs (8-9 yrs) and moving up to the Junior Es (10-11 yrs), eventually leading an all-girls FF15 team (13-15 yrs). However, some say Matthew's biggest sporting achievement lies in hockey, where he was the goalkeeper for Servette hockey club, clinching the national trophy back in 1989.
These days, he’s not playing as much, but he’s still keeping fit and active. He likes to swim in the lake, bike in the mountains, and run in the park. He’s training for a triathlon, because he likes to challenge himself. He also does pilates, because he likes to torture himself.
When he’s not on the field, he’s in the classroom. He’s a leadership and life coach, with an IMD Executive Coaching Certificate. He helps people achieve their goals, overcome their challenges, and unleash their potential. He’s also an executive educator for business-owning families, helping them run their businesses smoothly, successfully, and sustainably.
Always up for a challenge, a good cause, and some fun, Matthew has lent a helping hand at Paleo for the local Judo club, raised funds for charities through sports, and organized two TEDx events at the Ecole Hoteliere in Lausanne to spread 'ideas worth sharing'.
Ona, at just 15, is a spirited sportswoman with a knack for trying her hand at various team sports like hockey, handball, and cricket. However, she’s now found her groove in football, and is an active member of a local FF15 team, showcasing her skills both in goal and out on the field.
While juggling her passion for sports, Ona is also hitting the books, studying GCSE PE at school, delving into the world of sports, health, and wellbeing. Additionally, she's on her way to achieving her Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award, having already bagged the Bronze accolade this year.
When she's not doing something sporty or studying, Ona's all about making a difference. After a fun fundraising experience scootering around the countryside for children's rights with Terre des Hommes, she decided to put her athletic talents to good use. Inspired by the crisis in Ukraine, over breakfast one day in early 2022 she and her brother thought up a wonderfully successful 20km fundraising walk for Medecin Sans Frontières.
From the moment Bastian was in the womb, he showed off his kicking prowess, and that talent has only grown stronger over the years. His love affair with balls started at birth, and he was chucking and kicking them long before he took his first steps. Now, at the ripe old age of ten, he's an avid footballer, playing in a local Junior E team (10-11 yrs old), and hardly ever seen without a ball at his feet.
While his parents see holidays as a chance to explore new places, Bastian sees them as prime time for football. You'll find him dribbling a ball through the streets, manoeuvring around crowds like a pro. And when he's not playing football, he's scaling mountains like a seasoned goat, leaving his folks in the dust during hikes, runs, or bike rides. Even on the Nintendo, he's a force to be reckoned with, but at least they can still give him a run for his money in a game of chess... sometimes.
