About

Mrs. S

My name is Melissa Schneider and have been a certified athletic trainer since 2003.  I graduated from San Diego State and have worked at the community college level,  out patient physical therapy and both high school and middle school levels. I am able to bring many real world experiences into the classroom to increase the learning and peak the interest of all students.

I decided to go back to school and get my teaching credential an I will be entering my 11th year of teaching.

I have been married to my husband Brandon Schneider for almost 19 years and have two wonderful boys, Owen and Everett.

I have a rare autoimmune disease called neuromyelitis optica. I was diagnosed 6 years ago and I like to share this with my students so they are aware of some of the things I had to overcome just to get back to working as this disease attacks my spinal cord and optic nerve. I had to retrain myself to do many things.  I share this with you to show that  if you want something you need to work for it, it does not come if you wait for it to happen.

Since being diagnosed I am now able to bowl again, and I bowl twice a week. I  can't beat my highest game of 298 that I got before my diagnosis,  but am inching my way there with my 275 games.  As a family we  love seeing movies and of course going to Disneyland.

I am a hard worker and have high expectations and I expect nothing less from each student. As long as they try and work hard, this will be a great school year!
