Downtown Spirit Lake

By 1909 Spirit Lake had a well developed downtown. This view of Maine Street looks towards the lake. Nearly all of these buildings are still standing and in use today.

Spirit Lake Café

Spirit Lake's first restaurant opened in late 1907. This building was later improved and expanded to become the Park Hotel. It is currently the site of the Whitehorse Saloon.

Inside of the grocery store that used to occupy the building on the corner of 4th and Maine. The Zweygberg family ran this store during the 1920s. Old West Hardware currently occupies the space.
