Cases

The process of developing a case can be started from various sources, such as a request from the Nursing Faculty, identifying a gap in the curriculum, acting on a student suggestion, or by a member of the English for Nursing Purposes program.

On this page, you can find links to example role-play cases, which include students' nursing roles, simulated patient (SP) roles, evaluation forms for assessment, and relevant resources. The checklists have been developed for formative assessment, and if you would like to use them for summative assessment, they could be divided into a standardized module, for example, taking a history, or taking a blood sample, rather than combining that task with an explanation task.

These cases are examples still in development. So please use them to stimulate your own ideas, tailor your own cases and give us suggestions on how we could improve them.
