My name is Spencer Edwards. I am a Secondary Education Major with an emphasis on English and Special Education. I am striving to be the best teacher and student I can, no matter what is thrown my way. Education and learning are something that I have always been passionate about and believe is important. I want all students, regardless of who they are or where they come from to feel safe, seen and heard inside my classroom.
I graduated from Clinton High School in 2017 and later returned as a Special Education Paraeducator for two years. This is where I fell in love with Secondary Education. I received my associates degree from Eastern Iowa Community Colleges where I developed a better understanding for all of the thing's teachers do. I will begin my bachelor's degree in education at the University of Dubuque in the Fall of 2025. I am eager to learn more about what it means to be a teacher and discover more about the kind of teacher I will be.
Who am I outside of the classroom? I am an avid reader. I spend most nights curled up with a good book, making sure to take note of ones that could be great for students to read. I love the outdoors and spending the warmer days exploring in my kayak. I have a cat named Cheryl, who is the largest bread loaf around. I spend a lot of time with my friends and family when time allows. They are my biggest supporters on my journey to be a teacher and the children in my life are my biggest drivers of why I want to teach.
