My name is Edith, and I began my career as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in 2010. I enjoy being a SLP because it is challenging, and it challenges me. I continue to grow and hone my therapy skills in a variety of ways (professional development, consultations and collaborations, webinars, and scouring the web for ideas and updated therapy treatments).
It is my aim to make my therapy sessions fun and engaging. I believe in therapy through game play and discovering what my students enjoy to make the repetitive tasks they do in therapy fun. Each student presents a unique journey on their way to successfully meeting their speech goal. No two students are alike, so the approach to their therapy is as unique as they are.
Prior to becoming a SLP, I was a reading specialist, middle and elementary school teacher and adjunct professor for remedial reading.
I hope you find the information on this site helpful and supportive to your child's growth.
