Receptive language is the understanding of verbal, spoken communication. For example, following directions, responding appropriately to questions, staying on topic, focusing, paying attention, understanding figurative language, understanding vocabulary, etcetera.
Expressive language is the use of speech to communicate one's needs, wants, feelings, opinions, commenting, giving explanations and other types of communication for a purpose.
"BINGO" games are a great way to encourage the use of language.
They can be used to teach vocabulary, describing, categorizing, grammar, and WH questions and work well with all age and grade levels.
