There are two primary ways to be involved in the Speech Acquisition Lab:
Who? Those who are curious about the Lab but not currently in a position to join/make the commitment to Lab membership.
What? Attend in-person weekly Lab meetings as an observer and eventual participant if desired. Learn about the research and the community of the Lab.
When/where? See the Lab Calendar for dates/times/locations of upcoming Lab Meetings
Interested? No need to contact us ahead of time – just show up to a meeting and introduce yourself!
Who? Those who have been invited to join the lab and are able to make the commitment to Lab membership for the duration of a fall or spring semester.
What? Lab onboarding (approx. 5 hours) due the first week of the semester (This is a hard deadline!); Mentored Lab work (up to 5 hours/week, as needed) – flexible hours depending on the student’s schedule and department business hours; and Lab meeting attendance (approx. 1.5 hours/week).
When/where? See the Lab Calendar for dates/times/locations of upcoming Lab Meetings
Interested? Attend Lab meetings. Invitations to join the Lab first require a period of weekly Lab meeting attendance. and participation
We consider requests to write theses in the Lab upon completion of at least one semester of Lab membership. Please see our Alumni page for information about our honors alumni and their theses!
