Countess Elizabeth Bathory (Erzsébet Báthory), is a historical enigma that has ignited intense debate and historical examination nearly 410 years later. Afterall, Elizabeth didn't earn the name Blood Countess or Countess Dracula for nothing right?
As young girls from the surrounding villages began to disappear, suspicions turned to the imposing Castle Cachtice, where Elizabeth resided. Investigations uncovered horrifying accounts of torture, mutilation, and murder within its walls. With shocking testimony, Elizabeth's accomplices painted a picture of unspeakable horror, leading to her conviction and imprisonment within her own castle.
