We loaded up Unity 2019.3.8f1 in order to create the simulation. In addition, we are able to work together by using the Unity Collaborate/Teams.
We got a proof of concept ready, as we are able to walk around in an Oculus Quest Headset and pick up objects. Additionally, we were able to turn off gravity for certain objects, and we can edit the value of gravity.
The camera represents where the person spawns, and there is a video on the home page showing how it all works.
Tanner thought of a more fan-blade shape to use.
This is my initial storyboard
The intent was to give a general overview of how the process should work. There are more specific details, such as figuring out how everything works.
My storyboard was just a proof of concept for how the basic design would look, and a couple different ideas for variations of the final product (including the traditional design and my "fan" design.
My storyboard shows the basic idea behind the toroidal module.
Will be added soon
Make sure to research and see what happens with the fluid mechanics. This is especially important to the toilet, showers, and the hose.
Another group with Sam Houston University could get into contact with us.
Overall, we are on the right path.
The text on-screen could be changed to a more readable color
The water particles/system coming out of showerheads should be more realistic - like a fluid simulation rather than a particle one
Use the number values that make the simulation most realistic when making the scale of the simulation, rather than arbitrary values or Unity's #'s
The weights were really nice, and the way they interacted with gravity was really good, keep doing what we're doing and adding things
The player walking everywhere is very nice
Arrows are a nice touch for experiments
Pendulums/Metronome
Each of them will swing differently at different heights w/ different gravity
Placement of Items (Bathroom, other objects)
This is okay, as it helps make the place feel more like home
Residential area (all on one side and then flip to the other) (cross country train)
Potential idea. Could help make rooms bigger and fill up more space
Turn to see hallways in the central module
This perspective will help the visuals
Ladders instead of Elevators (not a huge priority)
Would be what they will use in the actual spacecraft
