Inspired by the Scottish tradition of meeting researchers from all over Scotland shortly before going to CHI, we are hoping to start this tradition within our community in the South West of England and De Cymru to bring Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) researchers and friends closer together. CHI is the largest international conference for researchers in the HCI field. The idea of this South West UK Pre-CHI Event is to provide an opportunity for researchers from the South West to present their accepted CHI papers, work-in-progress research, a small doctorial consortium, and discuss this research in a smaller circle. Additionally, this event will provide an excellent opportunity for younger researchers to get a taste of the quality of work presented at CHI and network with other peers, as well as senior researchers. Therefore, everyone from students to professors interested in HCI will be welcome to attend.
Wedi ei ysbrydoli gan y traddodiad Albanaidd o gwrdd ag ymchwilwyr ledled yr Alban, ychydig cyn mynd i CHI, yr ydym yn gobeithio dechrau traddodiad yn De-orllewin y DU i ddod â cymuned CHI y DU a'i ffrindiau yn agosach i'w gilydd. CHI yw'r gynhadledd ryngwladol fwyaf ar gyfer ymchwilwyr ym maes HCI. Y syniad digwyddiad Cyn-CHI De-orllewin y DU yw darparu cyfle i ymchwilwyr o'r de-orllewin i gyflwyno'u papurau a dderbyniwyd gan CHI, ymchwil "work-in-progress", consortim doethurol, ac i drafod yr ymchwil yma mewn cylch llai. Yn ogystal, bydd y digwyddiad yma yn darparu cyfle rhagorol i ymchwilwyr iau i gael blas o ansawdd y gwaith a chyflwynwyr yn CHI, ac i rwydweithio gyda chyfoedion eraill, yn ogystal ag uwch ymchwilwyr. Felly, bydd croeso i bawb o fyfyrwyr i ddarlithwyr sydd â ddiddordeb yn HCI ddod i'r digwyddiad hwn.
