What is …As 1? Simply put it is our team’s motto or slogan. The very nature of being on a team is working together towards a common goal. Football may be the perfect team game as it absolutely requires individuals to work together for success. If one player on offense fails to do their job, it is likely the play will be unsuccessful. Likewise, a defense is only successful when 11 players are working as 1.

However, …As 1 goes far beyond the 11 players on the field; it applies to every individual who is crucial to our program: players, parents, teachers, administrators, community members, students and fans – it is anyone who supports our team. Everyone has a part to play, and no one is more important than anyone else. Everything we do, we do together…As 1! Our success, our missteps, our work, our joy – it all happens As 1!

We expect our players to embrace the team concept and truly buy into the idea behind …As 1! From seemingly small things like wearing the same practice shorts and socks during practice, to understanding your role on the team and how it makes us better, we will act As 1! Coaches don’t win games, individual players don’t either. The entire program wins games…As 1!
