PTO POSITIONS (2025/2026)
Please note that this is a fluid document. Depending on the community's needs, new positions will be added and eliminated in different years. Open positions are indicated, and descriptions are available by clicking the position name.

PRESIDENT - Sarah Smith (last year on the Board - thank you for your unwavering support Sarah!)
The President oversees the direction and activities of the PTO and presides at all Board meetings and General PTO meetings. The President shall be a member ex-officio of all committees and may delegate duties and tasks as needed. The President is a liaison between the PTO, the school administration. The President helps the school and the PTO operate as a cohesive unit.
VICE PRESIDENT - Gina Flint (serving final year of 2-year term)
The Vice President shall serve as an aide to the President and act as President if the President cannot act for any reason. The Vice President shall perform such functions as shall be delegated by the President or the Board.
TREASURER - Ines Benavides (serving final year of 2-year term) / CO. TRESURERS - Laura Federico, Gigi Lem (last year on the Board - thank you for your continued support and guidance Laura and Gigi!)
The Treasurer oversees PTO funds, focusing on budgeting, recording, and reporting expenses and revenues accurately.
SECRETARY - Tiffany Siouris (serving final year of 2-year term)
The Secretary shall keep an accurate record of all PTO and Board general meetings and shall perform other duties as may be delegated by the President or the Board.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS - Mariana Duval (serving final year of 2-year term)
The Director of Communications oversees PTO Social Media, Email communications, and the PTO website. This role is responsible for creating and distributing the PTO Newsletter, maintaining the Constant Contact database, and updating the PTO website. The director shall assist with creating and distributing publicity for programs and special events.
CO. DIRECTORS OF FUNDRAISING - Yajaira Martinez and Isabella Pineda
The Director of Fundraising oversees the development and execution of fundraising programs that support the PTO’s mission and help meet annual budget goals. In collaboration with the Executive Treasurers, the Director evaluates fundraising needs each year and identifies new opportunities to strengthen revenue and engagement.
The Director also leads and supports any Fundraising Coordinators for each event or campaign, ensuring successful planning, promotion, and implementation.
Timeframe: Year-round, 1-year term with option to continue
Description: The Faculty & Staff Material Support Coordinator manages the PTO’s process for fulfilling faculty and staff materials requests. This role works closely with the Executive Treasurers to track, approve, and purchase items using PTO funds.
Monitors and organizes staff materials requests submitted through the PTO Google Form. (coming soon!)
Regularly aggregates requests for review and approval by the PTO Board or school administrators as applicable.
Places orders for approved materials using PTO funds and arranges delivery to the school.
Communicates with teachers and staff regarding the status of their requests, including follow-up or clarification as needed, using the PTO email to manage correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
The Spiritwear & Merchandise Coordinator manage all aspects of PTO-branded apparel and merchandise sales. This includes selecting vendors, designing items, coordinating sales campaigns, and handling order distribution. They work to promote school spirit while generating funds for the PTO, working closely with the Director(s) of Fundraising and the Communications team.
The PTO treats schoolwide staff with appreciation gestures throughout the school year. The Coordinator will be responsible for leading the execution of the events under the direction of the PTO Executive Board. Responsibilities could include monitoring volunteers, researching pricing and food options, and generating fresh ideas.
TK/Kinder Preview Night Committee (APRIL): The PTO hosts an information session on the Kindergarten playground in April before school ends. This event is aimed at easing the transition to transitional kindergarten and kindergarten for both the students and their parents/guardians. Members of the Meetups Committee will be present to welcome families and answer any questions they may have about PTO. Tiffany Siouris, Ines Benavides & OPEN for additional volunteers
Elementary Back-to-School Night Committee (AUGUST): This committee plans the event to celebrate the start of the school year by bringing the Elementary school community together for this festive, free event! - OPEN
School Picture Day Committee (OCTOBER): The School Picture Day Committee supports elementary administration in various tasks on picture day. This may involve recruiting volunteers using SignUp, organizing and coordinating volunteers to manage day-of operations, assisting with directing classes and staff to different photo locations and helping students wait in line. Committee members can opt to be present on-site for the day of photos or can assign another volunteer to oversee the day of operations. OPEN
Elementary MOVIE Nights (TBD): This team coordinates logistics including venue setup, game materials, prizes, and refreshments, while ensuring the event is fun, inclusive, and well-organized. They work with the PTO Board and the Elementary staff to promote the event, recruit volunteers, and create a welcoming atmosphere for students and families to enjoy a night of community fun. OPEN
Elementary Book Fair Committee (TBD): Anika Vikash, the elementary librarian, runs an elementary book fair in the fall and spring. She coordinates with book fair companies (i.e., Scholastic, Aesop’s Fable, etc.) and hosts the fairs within the Elementary School Library. The Book Fair Committee would support Anika with any needs, including managing the cash-register volunteer signup process, on SignUp.com, helping with set up/break down (or coordinating volunteers for this), working with the Executive Treasurer of Expenses to provide appropriate change for the change boxes and whatever other support is needed. OPEN
Elementary Field Day (TBD) Committee: Field Day Coordinators do an amazing job planning stations for grade-level field days in [MONTH TBD] and coordinating volunteers for the events! OPEN
Pre-K & Kindergarten Carnival Committee (JUNE): Preschoolers, Transitional Kindergarteners and Kindergarteners have a fun field day to celebrate the end of the school year. Think face painting, temporary tattoos, and waterplay! In coordination with the teachers, the Carnival Committee plans and prepares the carnival, purchases reimbursable event supplies, and coordinates volunteers through SignUp.com to make the day successful! Planning begins in late May for the event in early June. OPEN
Ice Cream Social Committee (AUGUST): This committee plans the annual Ice Cream Social to celebrate the beginning of the school year and the end of summer, bringing the school community together for this delicious, free event! OPEN
Family Reading Night Committee (DATE TBD): PTO would like to hold a Family Reading Nights throughout the year. This position would coordinate with the school administrators to plan Family Reading Nights at school. These events would last approx. 1 hour and may include teachers, parents, or community leaders reading aloud and/or cozy spots for kids to read to themselves. OPEN
Elementary STEAM Night (DATE TBD): STEAM Night is held on Elementary school grounds on a Saturday featuring interactive science activities. This position would be great for someone with a passion for science and/or ideas about how to bring more science into the lives of elementary students in a fun event. It is very flexible, so you can do whatever you want to do with it! OPEN

7th Grade (SP C/O 2027) Class Parent Coordinator(s): Under the direction of the PTO Board, the SP Class of 2027 Coordinators will work jointly with the SP 2028 and SP 2026 Class Coordinators to provide an additional level of school-wide leadership and communication with teachers and administration. This position will play an integral role in keeping the traditional Middle School Costume Dance and assemblies a continuing part of the middle school experience. The 2027 Coordinator will also oversee the formation of and direct the annual 7th Grade [EVENT NAME HERE] Committee. OPEN for all interested parties
