Welcome to the Teen Advisory Board!

Are you passionate about shaping teen programs, advocating for young adult services, and making the library a welcoming space for all teens? Join South Park Township Public Library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB) and make a difference!

TAB is a student-led group that helps create exciting programs, design book displays, and tackle community issues. Members gain volunteer hours while developing leadership skills and making new friends.

What We Do

Making a Community Impact

TAB members have led meaningful projects, including assembling kits for persons experiencing homelessness, which grew into a permanent community cabinet at the library. Now, they are expanding their outreach through a partnership with Bailey’s Cat Haven, a rescue center located just across from the library. TAB volunteers help cats develop social skills to improve their chances of being adopted, continuing their commitment to service and advocacy.

Leadership Pathways

At the South Park Library’s Teen Advisory Board, every member follows a unique path, and each role is important. Every member brings something special to TAB! Some join as Explorers, getting to know the team and discovering what inspires them. Others become Creators, helping to plan programs and displays. Our Trailblazers often mentor others and lead projects with creativity and heart.

Whether you’re starting out as an Explorer, taking on projects as a Creator, or mentoring your peers as a Trailblazer, your voice and enthusiasm help shape the direction of TAB. These roles are not rankings; they are ways to recognize the diverse strengths, ideas, and passions you bring to our group. Just like any great adventure, people evolve, grow, and discover new paths over time. Wherever you are on your journey, we’re here to guide and support you. In every role, you’re part of a team that celebrates your journey, champions your potential, and thrives on creativity, connection, and growth.
