Sightings by text, standard mobile texts.

You can also send your sightings and images to our WhatsApp group or socials below. Your name will be added unless you leave your name out. We will add (SLA) at the end of your sighting so we all know the sighting was sent over socials. Having your name against your sighting or image will filter out the erroneous sightings and copied images.

Please Note:

We never answer the phone unless we have been in contact before and swapped numbers by email, or numbers passed by standard text or meeting face to face in the field, having our number online drags in cold callers, sorry no dating sites needed here, so please do ring if you need to and leave a message then we will ring you back if bird related or anything to do with our walks.

Sighting pages will be updated asap while in office, only important sightings will be posted to our WhatsApp group while we are out in the field.

All your sightings sent to us will be added to our site. Your name will be added to your sighting unless stated otherwise.

State time and location of your sighting also the direction of flight where possible.

Please send any records of sightings e.g. early or late migrants, unusual numbers of any species in your gardens or out on your walks, even the common and local species are welcome for us to keep a eye on species counts and movements throughout the season's.

Please consider before joining this group, we only post to this group while out of office and only post Rare, Mega or species we think important. All other sightings will be over this website. Our WhatsApp group is quality of members not quantity of messages.

Sending sensitive sightings or images, please send them to ☎️ 07581-014293 either by standard text or my personal WhatsApp. These sightings or images will be kept private but added to our cloud and sent to their relevant County Recorder.

Using What3Words with your sightings:

How to use while out in the field on your mobile devices.

Download What3Words from your play or app store. Turn location on your mobile device.

Open What3Words app, click globe bottom right, this will open satellite view, click sight bottom right, this will shrink to find your exact location, click share, click twitter tweet or whatsapp, delete writing except link, add your sighting and send. Once you have done it a few times its easy.

We strongly believe Whats3Words is the way forward in location of sightings, with no more lengthy messages of location, just 3 symbols, ( w3w ) with description of sighting, direction of sighting or direction of flight if needed.
