WEEKLY HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT: Dance Data Journal

THIS IS A GRADE COMPLETELY UNDER YOUR CONTROL, SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!

Announcements:

Dance Company Dues (DUE SEPT. 1): All dance students are required to pay dues for their class attire. In the past, students and parents were responsible for finding and purchasing their own dance attire at local dance stores (i.e. DanceRaggs, DanceMax). The items got to be quite expensive for dance students and their families, and often resulted in a)students not having proper attire until the week or day of the concert which docked their grade daily, or b)students purchasing incorrect dance attire resulting in the company looking less uniform. To tackle both of these issues simply and in the most cost effective way, I will be ordering the necessary dance basics for EVERY student. The $50 dues includes the following:

For Men

-1 dance belt

-1 pair of ballet shoes

-1 pair of jazz shoes

For Women

-1 black tank leotard

-2 pairs of convertible dance tights (1 pink, 1 black)

-1 pair of ballet shoes

-1 pair of jazz shoes

The above items will be ordered the third week of school, giving students time to set their schedules. The average cost for these items from dance stores (even discountdance.com) would run about $80+/student, so the savings are significant! These items will be the PERMANENT PROPERTY OF THE STUDENT; therefore, the student is responsible for keeping track of them, bringing them to class everyday, replacing them if lost/stolen/damaged, and laundering them regularly. These items will be used as the basis for every concert costume and for daily class attire.
