About Ms. Warren

Hello! I am Gaelyn Warren, and this is my first year BACK at South Cobb High School. I began my career at SCHS teaching theatre, with only one dance class in the spring semester. After growing both the theatre and dance programs, I was blessed to be offered the opportunity to teach dance exclusively in the 2015-2016 school year. I taught dance and musical theatre at SCHS until 2018, when I left to have my second child. I was an assistant manager at Kids 'R' Kids East Cobb and Sprayberry Academy until the pandemic hit. I left the preschool to focus on remote learning for my children. In 2021, I returned to the classroom as a paraprofessional at Chalker Elementary in Kennesaw, and I am ecstatic to be back "where it all started" at South Cobb HS teaching dance once again!

I am from New York State (Yonkers and Rochester) and began dancing there at age 8. I have studied ballet, modern, jazz, tap, musical theatre, lyrical, swing, and belly dance. I did my undergraduate studies at Ithaca College, earning a B.A. in Theatre, and after teaching dance in several Metro-Atlanta studios, I went back to school to earn my M.A. in Dance Education P-12. I also have a background in music, and I love photography.

I live in Marietta with my husband and daughters, and I am excited for the wonderful things the South Cobb Dance Company will do this year. It's great to be home!
