THE FALL DANCE CONCERT IS HERE...FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10!

Students are to leave to get and eat dinner after 3:30pm dismissal, and they are to arrive back at the SCHS Dance Studio at 5pm. For space and security reasons, students will be leaving their belongings (including devices) in the studio; the studio will be locked from 5:05pm until the end of our concert (when dressing rooms have been cleared by Ms. Warren). Ms. Warren and SCHS are not responsible for any personal belongings students do not secure. At 5:15pm we will begin our finale run-through with all dancers, and then students will have time to warm up, do any hair or makeup necessary for their dances. ALL DANCERS MUST HAVE THEIR SCHS DANCE ATTIRE IN ORDER TO PERFORM FRIDAY.

All dance students were given 5 presale tickets to sell to family and friends, as tickets are $5 on the day of the concert. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the dance program to help with field trip costs, costume purchases, guest artists, and student scholarships for dance study.

This is a very important section of my blog! We have lots of opportunities for field trips this year, and I will be posting information about those trips here as they approach.

This semester, we will be going to see the Dance Theatre of Harlem perform at the Cobb Energy Center, as well as have the chance to take class from the company the following day. We are planning to see Ballethnic's "Urban Nutcracker" in November as our final field trip for the fall semester. In the spring, we will be seeing the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre perform at the Fox Theatre, and this is the most expensive local field trip we will do this school year.
