Sideline Cheer Tryouts will take place over five mandatory days, and athletes must attend all sessions. Days 1–3 will be mandatory clinics where athletes will learn cheers, dances, and stunts for sideline cheer and practice the stunts they will be evaluated on. These clinics will focus on proper motion technique, performance quality, and overall expectations. Day 4 will be dedicated to Sideline stunt evaluations only, where athletes will be assessed on technique, strength, control, timing, and execution using a rubric-based scoring system. On Day 5, Session 1 will serve as the Sideline performance evaluation, where athletes will be evaluated on cheers, dance, motions, energy, projection, attitude, and overall performance quality.
Athletes must arrive at least 15 minutes early each day for check-in and preparation. Punctuality, preparedness, and coachability are expected. Athletes should wear a white shirt and black shorts (Tuesday-Thursday) and all black (Friday- Saturday), proper athletic shoes, and have hair slicked back into a low ponytail for a clean, gameday-ready appearance.
A paper copy of PIAA Form 6, completed and signed by a doctor clearing the athlete for participation, must be handed to a coach to be eligible to try out. Information does not need to be updated in the ATS portal since tryouts occur before the official fall season. Please refer to the paperwork tab for additional details from the athletic trainer.
After all tryouts conclude, each athlete will receive a scheduled time to meet with coaches to discuss placements and review scores.
Athletes must participate in Sideline Cheer to be eligible for Competition Cheer. Competition evaluations will take place on Day 5 during Session 2, following the Sideline evaluations. Athletes will use the first three clinic days to prepare and refine skills for competition evaluations.
Competition Cheer Tryouts are more performance-focused and in-depth. Athletes will be evaluated using a rubric-based scoring system on stunting ability, tumbling, jumps, motions, precision, strength, control, timing, execution, and overall work ethic.

Team announcements will follow the same process as Sideline Cheer, with individual meetings scheduled after tryouts conclude. Athletes selected for the Competition Cheer team must attend mandatory uniform sizing the day after team announcements to ensure proper ordering and preparation for the season.
