Open Gym will take place on Mondays from 4:00–5:30 PM in the Souths Auxiliary Gym. Dates for Open Gym sessions are posted in the Calendar tab of the Linktree in our Instagram bio or under the calendar tab of this website. Coaches will be present to assist athletes as needed. Athletes are welcome to work on stunting skills, tumbling, cheers, or dances. Open Gym follows an open-concept format, meaning there is no formal practice plan—athletes choose what they would like to focus on during the session. Open gyms are open to any current Council Rock South student 9th-11th grade.
We are currently offering two weight room sessions for athletes. These sessions will take place on Mondays from 4:30-5:30 and are designed to help athletes build strength, power, and overall athletic performance in a structured and supportive environment. Coaches will be present to supervise, provide guidance on proper technique, and assist athletes as needed. The weight room is a great opportunity for athletes to focus on conditioning, injury prevention, and strength development to support their performance in cheer. Weight room is open to any current Council Rock South student 9th-11th grade.
The three-day mandatory clinics are designed to prepare athletes for both Sideline and Competition Cheer tryouts. During these sessions, athletes will learn the cheers, dances, and stunts required for Sideline Cheer while also reviewing and practicing the specific stunts they will be evaluated on. Clinics will focus on proper motion technique, performance quality, timing, and overall execution. These days provide athletes with the opportunity to ask questions, build confidence, and fully understand expectations before formal evaluations begin. Attendance at all three clinic days is required.
