Why we do what we do

South Bay Art Collective was incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 2019 to incubate hobby and artistic endeavors (collaborative sculpture creation). Its primary purpose is to promote appreciation for and enjoyment and understanding of the visual, performing, folk, and media arts.

Since 2011, a group of artists from the South Bay have represented Silicon Valley in Black Rock City, Nevada, with themes such as an effigy made of wooden laptops, an orchard and water tower reminiscent of The Valley of Heart's Delight, a giant magician's hat, and even a giant sand worm.

The participating artists' names have rotated through the years, usually with a group of 10-15 people but not always the same people year to year.
