You may enroll in one or both courses to participate in the study abroad program.
Students from any district college (Mesa, City, CE) are eligible. If you are not currently a student, then you can apply to Miramar College and enroll in the course(s).
This course is a survey of cultural anthropology using a comparative, cross-cultural approach. Emphasis
is placed on the study of how various peoples around the world have adapted to their environments and
developed behaviors to meet their biological, economic, psychological, social and political needs. This
course is intended for anthropology majors and all students interested in life and/or behavioral sciences. UC/CSU
This course is an introductory survey of contemporary astronomy. Topics covered include the solar system, stars and stellar evolution, the Milky Way galaxy and cosmology. This course is intended for students with a general interest in astronomy.

Students can take one (3 units) or two (6 units) courses for this study abroad program.
If you enroll in both courses, then you will be able to apply your Financial Aid to the summer session.
Both of these courses fulfill GE requirements and are transferable to UC/CSU.
Note about course enrollment
Important: You may only take a course once in the San Diego Community College District.
If you have taken either of these courses, please enroll in the other one.
Basic Eligibility
You are eligible to enroll in the study abroad program courses if you meet the following criteria:
You will be 18 years old at the time of travel
Your GPA is 2.0 or above
You will have completed at least 12 units of college credit before the program courses begin

In order to be cleared to participate, you will need to successfully complete three forms:

Academic Clearance Form
Health Clearance Form
Once you have committed to the program, we will make these forms available to you.
When you have successfully completed the forms and are approved for enrollment, the next step is to pay a deposit. Once you have paid your deposit, then you are ready to be a full participant in the upcoming program!
