"Blowin' in the Wind" Exhibition (RAW 17)

Art Meets Refugee Crisis

Across the world, more than 65 million people are displaced from their homes due to conflicts and many face difficulties accessing protection and basic services in countries of asylum. This interactive painting exhibition was held on 22nd June, 2017 at MyArtSpace to provide a platform to learn, discuss, and share ones views on the refugee crisis through a visual representation to some of the lyrics of the 1962 classic Blowin’ in the Wind (a song written by singer-songwriter and Nobel literature prize winner Bob Dylan that poses a series of perennial questions about peace, war and freedom). It was held in conjunction with the globally commemorated World Refugee Day on 20th June. The exhibition also displayed intimate photos taken by ordinary Singaporeans during their course of working with refugees. Around two dozens of visitors turned up for the exhibition and were engaged in interesting discussions related to this issue.
