Comprehensive Hate Speech Policy

LAt SOSN, we are committed to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all members. Hate speech in any form is strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate strike without a warning.

What Constitutes Hate Speech?

Hate speech includes any form of communication—spoken, written, visual, or symbolic—that promotes discrimination, hostility, or violence against individuals or groups based on their identity. This includes, but is not limited to:

1. Racism and Ethnic Discrimination

• Use of racial slurs, stereotypes, or derogatory remarks targeting individuals based on their race, ethnicity, or national origin.

• Advocating for segregation, exclusion, or harm based on racial or ethnic identity.

• Denying historical atrocities or promoting racial supremacy.

2. Religious Hate Speech

• Insulting or inciting hatred against a person or group based on their religious beliefs or lack thereof.

• Mocking religious practices, sacred symbols, or places of worship in a way intended to demean or provoke.

• Advocating violence, discrimination, or exclusion based on religion.

3. Gender and Sexual Orientation-Based Hate

• Using derogatory language, slurs, or stereotypes targeting individuals based on gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

• Denying rights or promoting exclusion of individuals based on their gender or LGBTQ+ identity.

• Encouraging conversion practices or spreading misinformation meant to degrade gender or sexual minorities.

4. Ableism and Discrimination Against Disabilities

• Mocking, belittling, or insulting individuals with disabilities, both physical and mental.

• Using ableist slurs or language that dehumanizes people with disabilities.

• Encouraging discrimination, exclusion, or harm based on disability status.

5. Age-Based Hate Speech

• Discriminatory language targeting individuals for being too young or too old.

• Advocating exclusion or mistreatment based on age.

6. Hate Speech Against Socioeconomic Status

• Mocking or belittling individuals for their financial situation, homelessness, or economic struggles.

• Encouraging exclusion or harm based on wealth or poverty.

7. Incitement of Violence and Hate Groups

• Promoting extremist ideologies that encourage harm against specific groups.

• Spreading conspiracy theories intended to demonize or dehumanize certain communities.

• Encouraging, justifying, or glorifying acts of violence against any group or individual.

Consequences of Violating This Policy

Hate speech is taken very seriously at SOSN. If you engage in any form of hate speech:

• You will receive an immediate strike with no warning.

• Depending on severity, further action—including permanent suspension—may be taken.

• A detailed explanation of the violation will be provided.

We encourage all members to promote respectful discussions and report any violations of this policy. Our goal is to ensure that SOSN remains a safe and inclusive space for everyone.
