The tournaments run by the Sons of Heritage are on Saturday's throughout the summer at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve. There are also events run by the Walnut Creek staff. The big difference is that for Sons events as listed on the Tournaments webpage, entry fees are collected by Sons of Heritage (i.e., Dan Weller), who then pays Walnut Creek greens fees and pays winners the payouts. Tee times are reserved for the tournament, but not guaranteed for last minute registrations. That is, we need to give final counts and greens fees to the shop several days prior to the event.
For anyone that has an annual pass the course looks at these events as a separate tournament so you must pay the tournament fee in order to play in these events. Sorry, wish I had better news for you but as far as I know this only impacts 50 people as there are only 50, seven day a week members.
Bottom line: register early for tournaments and make entry fee payments to Dan Weller as noted below, as quickly as possible!
The 9 hole Monday games are typically handicap flighted events with top three (in each flight) net score and skins (net, gross, both) payouts.
The Walnut Creek staff make our Monday night games available by blocking out tee times. Sons of Heritage is responsible for filling these times, but we must provide individual names for each tee time via email by Sunday evening at 9:00 p.m. The unused tee times will be released and available for general public and those making a last minute decision via the reservation system.
Greens fees are $28 and $22 for seniors (60 and older) and payable in the Golf Shop (the Westy app is not set up to pay these fees!). Carts are additional and payed for in the shop.
Games fee is $20 and payable to Dan Weller via a method listed below.
Hole in One Insurance
Starting in 2023, League players have the option to by 'insurance' for $10. In the case an 'insured' player has a Hole-in-One, they will receive the 'pot' that has been collected to that moment. The 'pot' will be comprised of all the $10 'premiums' PLUS funds contributed by Monday night players ($1 per player per Monday). There may be a cap of $750 on the 'pot'. This information will be updated as the 'pot' approaches $750.
Charity
Also, starting in 2023, League players will be contributing to a Charity 'pot' ($1 per player per Monday). During the 2023 season discussions and ideas will be bantered about as to how to determine the Charity. Please let Dan Weller your thoughts on this.

In 2022 the IRS changed how these accounts work and all Goods and Services payments are treated like income and are taxable. I am not a business so please do not use this option. All payments are either paid directly to the course for greens fees and carts or paid out in the tournament payouts. 100% of all payments are paid to the course and in the payouts.
