"It is a beautiful winter day, you can even see the sun behind the snowdrifts. The sun in its generosity makes the abundance of shades of white colour visible."
This was my mood-board and plan (= tunnelmataulu) for a rag rug which I wove before school. You can see the picture of the ready-made winter rug here. Rugs
Tablecloths of linen. The pattern for the cloth has been designed based on the old book cover which is in the picture. This is something I could put into practice one day. I will use old linen in weaving.
This mood-board is made for school. It is called "Savannin ilta" ("The night on the savanna"). It is made for a woven fabric of a comfortable floor pillow. The target audience is a modern and urban cosmopolite.
"Someone has been travelling in Africa. He is very tired and thirsty. The contours of his memories of the outstanding daytrip are mixed with the stripes of zebras... He just wants to lie down on his comfortable and soft floor pillow which has an animal-like pattern on it. "
I also design patterns on fabrics which are based on my handmade and handprinted textiles. I have them printed by a Finnish textile printing company.
