I was selected to go to UMass Amherst to attend the annual IMPACT Conference, there I was able to meet other students from institutions across the nation who are also interested in creating sustainable change in their communities. I met other students at UF who are also part of the Brown Center for Leadership and Service and now consider them live long collaborators and leaders who I can look to for advice and friendship. At the conference, I was able to hear from students and staff who are familiar with fields that I am interested in including, alternative policing, sustainable transportation, and taking care of yourself while taking care of others. Post-conference, I have made it my goal to transfer the skills and information that I obtained at the conference and implement it back at UF in both Path to Purpose and my own leadership positions.Â
