My name is Soniy Alamdari and if you're reading this you probably care to know a little bit about me! I am a sophomore at the University of Florida majoring in criminology and political science and minoring in family, youth, and community sciences and sociology of social justice and policy, and am on the pre-law track. I am a first-generation college student and come from parents who are Iranian immigrants. Entering college, I always knew I wanted to work with those who are affected by the criminal justice system, and I really dove into my interest area in 2020 when the Black Lives Matter movement was at its peak. I hope to continue my endeavors of working with communities to address and create change in the areas that need it most. In addition to Just Income GNV, I also intern at Peaceful Paths as an economic justice advocate, helping clients with housing struggles. Wherever the road leads me, I hope to stay true to myself and my values and never lose sight of the communities and stories that have impacted and motivated me to keep going.Â
