Somali youth Deko and Abdi visited the Legislature Assembly to advocate for youth in foster care, alongside FFCA. They brought their unique perspectives and courageously shared the injustices they’ve experienced within the system.
Separated not only from their birth families but also from their community, they spoke about the lasting impact of this disconnect, including the challenges of language barriers and the risk of losing connection to their heritage. By sharing their lived experiences, Deko and Abdi helped highlight the urgent need for a more compassionate and culturally aware foster care system. They even met got a chance to meet with governor Dunlevy!

Mental Health Awareness Night 💚
What an inspiring evening of learning and growth! We came together to discuss women’s and children’s mental health, positive parenting, and the emotional needs of a child. Together, we explored real tools for regulating our emotions during challenging moments and the best ways to protect our children from abuse.
A heartfelt thank you to all the mothers who showed up — real change begins with you. Your dedication to creating a healthier future for our children is powerful and deeply appreciated.
We also extend our gratitude to the Alaska Children’s Trust for being one of our event sponsors. Your support helps us continue this important work for our community.
Eid Mubarak from all of us! 🌙✨
This Eid, we had the joy of celebrating with the amazing children and families in our community at the local Chuck E. Cheese! It was a day full of laughter, games, and heartfelt memories.
Thanks to the generous support of our volunteers and partners, the event was completely free for families—a small way to give back and spread the joy of Eid to those who need it most.
We hope your Eid was filled with peace, love, and togetherness. From our community to yours, Eid Mubarak!
