Mrs. Ischy earned my undergrad early childhood education from University of Mount Union with a minor in psychology. Continued onto Seton Hill University for a masters in special education. From West Virginia University obtained my autism endorsement. Teaching experience has ranged from pre-kindergarten to 5/6 special education.
I am married to husband, Josh, for 13 years and have 4 beautiful children: Emma (12), Lucas (9), Brady (6), and Graham (2). We like to travel and explore new places in and around Ohio and beyond. The beach is a favorite refresh and holds many sweet family memories. Basketball remains a favorite activity although playing days are over, I continue to enjoy the sport through coaching. Additional hobbies include watching and coaching our active kids pursue various sports, fishing and art. I knew early on in the 5th grade that I wanted to be a teacher just like my favorite, Mrs. Jarzynka, whom I still keep in contact with today—She has never missed wishing me a birthday since my 10th one. I hope that I too have a lasting positive impact on my students, just as she has done for me. Teaching my students to read is fulfilling and I believe one of the most important skills I can give a child.
