Ohio has had many changes over the past two years when it comes to the education of your children. One of the biggest changes is moving toward the "Science of Reading" for all grades and content.
All Ohio teachers are now required to have 4-21 hours of Science of Reading Professional Development; in addition, all k-5 and intervention teachers to have an additional 18 hours of Dyslexia professional development.
The Switzerland of Ohio has approximately 200 teachers and at this time we have about 98% of our teachers that have completed the required training from the ODEW by January of 2025.
