Transport to Rinconada de Maipú (9:00)

Participants can take a shuttle at Hotel Plaza San Francisco to Rinconada de Maipú.

The Soil Excursion and lunch events will take place at the Experimental Station of the Universidad de Chile “Rinconada de Maipú”, which has marked the history of Chilean winemaking, located 30 km from Santiago city, within a natural landscape.

Soil Excursion (10-14 hrs)

Pits will be open to explain the origin, soil morphology and soil classification of three Soil Series located in the Experimental Station:

• Mapocho soil Serie: Fine silty, mixed, thermic, Fluventic Haploxeroll
• Pudahuel soil Serie: Coarse loamy, mixed, thermic. Vitrandic Durixeroll
• Rinconada de Lo Vial soil Serie: Coarse loamy, mixed, thermic. Typic Xerept

A coffee break will be available at 11:30 am

Lunch (14-17 hrs)

This activity is intended to celebrate all that we have shared and learned during the past four days at the Workshop. Enjoy delicious food, local culture, engaging conversation, and plenty of fun during our closing Chilean style barbecue at Estación Experimental Rinconada Maipú. The Estación Experimental has a craft winery and unique multi-use event space, located within a 1842 historic building.

Transport to hotel (17:00)

There will be shuttles available to take you back to hotel Plaza San Francisco at the end of this event.
