Miscellaneous Policy

"Our party has a lot planned for this wonderful country, but to keep the manifesto brief we had to cut out some pages. Here are our most important policies that did not fit on any of the other pages. These policies will help bring the equality and true liberation from the capitalist oppressors that this country desperately needs."

Education Policy

• Abolish the Student Loans Scheme and immediately write off all loans.
• Introduce a living allowance for all tertiary students at the level of the Living Wage.
• Make tertiary education tuition free for all students.
• Reduce class sizes to a maximum of 20 pupils in all primary and secondary schools.
• Abolish National Standards.
• Offer New Zealand Sign Language as a second language in secondary schools.
• Offer free New Zealand Sign Language courses for those who did not learn it in school or those who need a refresher.
• Fully fund early childhood education centres to ensure free, quality early childhood education for all Kiwi kids.
• Increase education on lifestyle diseases and ways of preventing them.
• Ensure increased awareness and action on bullying at all levels of education.
  • Establish an anti bullying commission to ensure awareness and best practice prevention is in place across all education institutions.
• Begin civics education ensuring students know their rights, value of voting and systems of government.
  • Increase youth parliaments across the nation as a system of fostering engagement with politics.
• Ensure schooling is fully free to all students, supplying all assocaited costs with education such as stationary, uniforms and school bags.
• Establish special character schools with more freedom with curriculum to ensure all student needs are catered to, not a one size fits all system.
• Ensure free lunches and breakfast offered to all students at primary, intermediate and secondary schools.

Constitutional Policy

• Hold a referendum on a New Zealand Republic.
• Support a second flag referendum to help New Zealand move away from British rule.
• Change the official name of New Zealand to "Aotearoa".
• Create a 50% tangata whenua upper house.
• Implement a bill to allow for the recall of MPs.

Culture Policy

• Increase funding to RNZ and TVNZ to ensure they are able to provide quality free news.
  • Provide enough funding to allow for a dedicated 24/7 news channel.
  • Provide enough funding for RNZ and TVNZ to go completely ad free.

Immigration Policy

• Ensure open borders with minimal restrictions on international travel.
