How do I create an account?
Download Social Ratios from the App Store, open the app, and sign up with your email, Apple ID, or Google account. You'll complete a short profile to personalize your experience.
How do I find venues near me?
Tap the Explore tab to see a map and list of nearby venues with live gender ratios, crowd levels, and venue types (bars, nightclubs, rooftops, lounges).
What does the live gender ratio show?
The ratio reflects the current male-to-female breakdown of people who have checked in at the venue. It updates in real time as patrons arrive and leave.
What is Social Ratios? Social Ratios is a real-time venue analytics app for bars and nightclubs. We show you live data about partnered venues — including the current male-to-female ratio, crowd size, events, and specials — so you can decide where to go before you head out.
How do you get the ratio data? Ratio data comes directly from our partnered venues. Venue owners and staff use a dedicated Venue Dashboard to update live information about their crowd throughout the night. The app then displays this data to users in real time.
Is this a dating app? No. Social Ratios is a venue discovery and analytics app. We don't have user-to-user matching, swiping, or messaging. Think of it like Yelp or Google Maps "Busy Now" — but specifically for nightlife, with crowd ratio data added.
Is the app free? Yes, Social Ratios is completely free for regular users. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no ads inside the user experience. Subscriptions only exist on the venue partner side, where bars and clubs can pay to access the Venue Dashboard, run promoted events, or appear as featured venues.
Why do you ask for my gender during sign-up? Gender is the basis of the ratio feature. We use aggregated, anonymized gender data from check-ins to calculate live ratios at venues. We never display individual user information publicly. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
How is my data used? Your gender and check-in data are used in aggregate only — meaning they're combined with everyone else's at a venue to produce the ratio percentage. We do not display, share, or sell your individual profile information. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I check into a venue? Yes. When you're physically at a partnered venue, you can check in to help update the live crowd data for everyone else. Check-ins also unlock badges and rewards over time.
Why don't I see ratios at my favorite bar? Ratios are only available at partnered venues. If your favorite spot isn't in the app yet, you can request it through the support form below — we'll reach out to the venue to invite them to the platform.
How do venues join Social Ratios? Venues can apply for partnership through our website or by contacting us at the email below. Approved venues receive access to a Venue Dashboard where they can update their live crowd data, post events and specials, and access analytics.
What does a venue subscription include? Venue partners can subscribe to plans that unlock additional features:
Featured — venue is highlighted on the home map and explore screen
Premium — featured placement plus advanced analytics, event promotion, and priority support Pricing is shown inside the Venue Dashboard.
How do I cancel a subscription? Venue subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To cancel, open iPhone Settings → tap your Apple ID name at the top → Subscriptions → Social Ratios → Cancel Subscription. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
How do I delete my account? Open the app → Profile tab → Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion is permanent and removes all your check-in history, badges, and profile data within 30 days.
Does Social Ratios work outside California? The app works anywhere, but live ratio data is only available at partnered venues. We're starting with the Inland Empire and expanding to additional Southern California cities. If you'd like to see Social Ratios at a bar in your area, request the venue through the support form.
Is my location tracked? Location is only used while the app is open, to show you nearby venues and to verify check-ins. We do not track your location in the background. You can revoke location access anytime in iPhone Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Social Ratios.
Is there an age requirement? Yes. You must be 21 or older to use Social Ratios, since the app is focused on bar and nightclub venues that require legal drinking age in the U.S.
How do I report an issue or incorrect data at a venue? Tap the venue → scroll to the bottom → "Report an Issue." You can flag inaccurate ratio data, closed venues, or other problems. Reports are reviewed by our team and forwarded to the venue.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID:
Open Settings on your device
Tap your name at the top
Tap Subscriptions
Select Social Ratios to modify or cancel
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
Do subscriptions auto-renew?
Yes. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com or contact us and we'll help guide you through the process.
How do I claim my venue?
Tap the venue's page, then tap Claim This Venue. You'll be asked to verify ownership (typically via business email or documentation). Our team reviews claims within 2 business days.
How do I update my venue's info (hours, photos, promotions)?
Once your venue is claimed, go to the Venue Dashboard from your profile. You can update photos, hours, descriptions, and — with Premium — push promotions to nearby users.
How does Featured placement work?
Featured venues appear at the top of search and Explore results within their area, with a highlighted card design. Subscribe to Venue Featured or Venue Premium in the Venue Dashboard.
What data does Social Ratios collect?
We collect the information you provide (profile, photos), your check-in activity, and device location only when you're using the app. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Is my check-in data shared with other users?
Only aggregate data (total count, gender ratio) is shown publicly. Your individual profile appears at a venue only if you've chosen to be visible there.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, photos, and activity. Active subscriptions must be canceled separately through Apple.
What if I encounter inappropriate behavior?
Use the Block and Report tools on any user profile. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours. For urgent safety concerns, contact local authorities first, then email us
