2020 Team

Greetings, everyone! We are thrilled to bring to you SYTYCD. COVID-19 has brought on countless uncertainties, worries and challenges, and we wish to provide you with some semblance of normalcy: bringing debate competitions back into the picture for all of you. We want to create an open and welcoming platform for all debaters, both novice and experienced, away from the pressure of classic debating tournaments. Even if you're someone completely new to debate, wishing to delve into this field of academia, only to be hindered by this pandemic, fret not! We have fashioned this competition to be less intimidating for newcomers, and we'd be delighted for you to partake in this competition.

For new debaters, we hope SYTYCD provides you with a platform where you can have a chance to practice and experience a debate tournament. For more experience debaters, we invite you to sharpen your skills. Despite being isolated from one another, SYTYCD seeks to nurture a sense of camaraderie, community and happiness. We look forward to bringing together views from many different cultures and biases, in so bringing everyone together in these unique times: a global connection amidst the pandemic. Riding the new waves of popularity in virtual communication, this is a perfect opportunity for all of us to venture in new waters and adapt to this new normal.
