Our Div. B invitational competition will be February 14, 2026!
Which events are you running?
We will be running all events (including two trial events, Gene Regulation, and Mind Matters)!
When and where should my team check in for the competition?
Check-in time: 7:00-8:00am
Check-in location: ITE C80 (down the stairs just as you enter the building)
Where is my team's homeroom?
Each team that you register will be assigned a homeroom. We will either email you with your team's homeroom assignment or give it to you during check-in. The majority of team homerooms are in: Susan Herbst Hall (SHH)
What is the competition schedule?
We are following the Science Olympiad Nationals schedule. See 2026 Invitational for our schedule.
Can my students attend a different test block if there is a time-conflict?
Hopefully there should be no time conflicts since we are following the nationals schedule, but if there are, please reach out to us in advance. We might be able to accommodate your students with time conflicts by moving them to a different block if possible.
Will you be using nationals or regional/state rulesets?
We will be using regional/state rulesets at our competition.
Do I need to bring volunteers?
Yes, we require each team to provide at least one volunteer. That means that if you have two teams registered, you must provide at least two volunteers to help run our event. We are a small Science Olympiad chapter and appreciate all the help that we can get!
How many teams can I register?
You can register a maximum of two teams, with 15 students per team. We may allow you to bring a third team if you contact us in advance.
What group assignments will my team(s) get?
Group assignments will be sent to you via email alongside an information packet. We try to group teams for the same school together into the same group assignment to avoid confusion between students within each group and to avoid cheating.
What is the registration fee?
One team: $30
Two teams: $45
After registering your team(s), you will be sent an email containing a link for payment. Payment is due 7 days before the date of the competition.
Will I be refunded if I have to cancel my registration?
Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the date of our competition are eligible for a complete refund. You will not be refunded if you cancel with less than 7 days until the competition date, unless there are extenuating circumstances. In any case, please email us to cancel and request a refund. We will be sorry that you can't make it to our competition!Â
Will there be lunch provided?
Lunch is from 11:50am-12:40pm and is included in our schedule to give our volunteers and students a break.
We do not provide lunch for students, however they are more than welcome to bring their own lunch to eat, or eat either on campus or in the surrounding area (the Student Union, or downtown Storrs both have great options for food). See our map for more information.
Pizza will be provided to all volunteers for our event free of charge. Thank you for volunteering!
When do students have to arrive?
Students are not required to be present for check-in.
We are encouraging students to be present for our opening ceremony, however if they are unable to attend, they may arrive in time for their first event instead.
Where are impound locations?
Impound locations are in the same room that that event is held in. These event rooms that require an impound are shown in orange on our schedule.
