A University of Connecticut Student Organization
Who are we?
Science Olympiad at UConn is a place for past Science Olympiad competitors and all science-lovers to use their passion to create scientific opportunities for others. We work to provide meaningful and exciting opportunities for STEM-oriented high school students through invitational Science Olympiad competitions. Through planning and hosting these annual competitions and working with local high school teams, our members will make a tangible impact on the communities of high school scientists, while gaining numerous valuable experiences.
We will be preparing to host our second invitational competition in February 2026.
What is Science Olympiad?
Science Olympiad is a national organization dedicated to improving the quality of primary and secondary school science education, increasing opportunity and diversity in science, creating a technologically literate workforce, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers. Annual competitions are held in which teams compete in various events that span many categories in STEM, from hands-on experiences with forensic investigations and engineering a rubber-powered aircraft to written tests of astronomy knowledge and ecology.
