SNUP (SPAY NEUTER UPSON PETS) was established in 2011 as a result of the staggering euthanasia statistics at the Upson County Animal Control.
SNUP is a group of volunteers dedicated to reduce pet overpopulation and homelessness by promoting, educating, and providing information on spay and neuter, the rescue process, and provide links to pet health resources to the citizens of Upson County, Georgia and surrounding counties.
SNUPs would like to see the number of unwanted animals decrease substantially and help prevent them from becoming a statistic at the Animal Shelter.
SNUP focuses on educating citizens on the need and benefits of spay and neuter and believes that this is the key to reducing the number of pets that are impounded each year.
SNUP cannot accept pets for rescue or foster. We are not the Animal Control, Animal Shelter, or the Humane Society. We will, however, partner with these organizations in various events and activities.
