Technology / Wifi update

The Technology subcommittee meets once a month on the third Tuesday of the month from noon to 1pm.  

The August Technology Subcommittee meeting focused on reviewing proposed projects for the 2026-2027 term which includes: sensor and predictive maintenance, Wi-Fi performance improvements, consistency in communication and processes, energy management systems, and next-generation entertainment.

Since these projects involve multiple stakeholders including the SNHA, the Resort, the Regimes, Ashley management, etc. we are putting together roles and responsibilities by project.  

As an example, we are taking a phased approach for the sensor work from the pilot phase through to the maintenance and monitoring phase.  We are in a pilot phase right now where a few diverse unit types are being evaluated.  The immediate next phase will be to take the results of the pilot program and craft a strategic approach for the sensor program that will be shared with all the stakeholders so the project initiation and budget can be approved by the accountable stakeholders.

Information on costs to Owners "in the Rental Program" for the Smuggs WiFi System is available in the Owner Benefits Grid on the Owner Network.  The cost for a full owner "not participating in the Rental Program" is currently $493 / year.  The Share Owners Benefits Grid has the cost for the Equishare and Familyshare owners (half and a third, respectively).
