Hello! I was a Postdoctoral Scholar-Fellow in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, and a (2024-2025) Health and Aging Policy Fellow at Columbia University, placed at the U.S. Administration for Community Living (ACL). I am currently in the 2025-26 academic job market.
I am an applied micro-economist interested in health, public, and environmental economics. I am particularly interested in aging, disability claims, health equity, health outcomes, and mental health. I conduct research to inform policy decisions at the Federal, state, and local levels, with a focus on enhancing our communities, especially for individuals with disabilities and older adults. Additionally, I am interested in some environmental issues related to air pollution and natural disasters.
Prior to UW Seattle, I earned my Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, USA. I also earned my B.S.S. and M.S.S. in Economics from the Islamic University, Bangladesh. I was born and raised in Jhenaidah District in southwestern Bangladesh. I am a beginner-level Bharatanatyam dancer. In my free time, I love cooking Bengali dishes, gardening, and hiking.
