Hello! I am a Postdoctoral Scholar-Fellow in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, and a (2024-2025) Health and Aging Policy Fellow at Columbia University. I am currently in the 2025-26 academic job market.
I am an applied micro-economist interested in health, public, and environmental economics. I am particularly interested in the topics of aging, disability claiming, health outcomes, mental health, and racial disparities in health care under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). I engage in research inquiries to impact policy decisions at the Federal, state, and local levels, focusing on enhancing our communities, especially for individuals with disabilities and older populations. Additionally, I am interested in some environmental issues related to air pollution and natural disasters.
Prior to UW Seattle, I earned my Ph.D. in Economics and my M.A. in Economics at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM, USA. I also earned my B.S.S. and M.S.S. in Economics from Islamic University, Bangladesh. I was born and raised in Jhenaidah District in southwestern Bangladesh. I am a beginner-level Bharatanatyam dancer. In my free time, I love cooking Bengali dishes, gardening, and hiking.
