Stillwater Middle School PTA is a collective of parents, teachers and school administrators dedicated to helping students become resourceful, responsible community members and respectful young citizens.
We actively raise funds and volunteer so we can best support our classrooms, enrich every-day learning experiences and advance educational opportunities. We work for every student across every area of the curriculum.
To maintain our PTA standing with the state, we must maintain 20 paid memberships each year. Becoming a member does not require any participation in events (although we hope you do!). Only paid members are allowed to vote during PTA meetings, when required. Cost is only $15 to join!
Please help us maintain our PTA status and support our mission.
President
Jen Plisch
Hello there! I'm Jen Plisch and a proud mom of 2 kids - my son will be an 8th grader at SMS and my daughter will be a 5th grader at Rutherford Elementary. My husband, Josh, and I moved our family here about 3 years ago and have been very happy with the change.
I'm honored to once again serve as your PTA president. This will be my second year on the board! I'm excited about all of the new things that we have planned for this year! My goal is to continue to build community and help make sure every voice is heard and valued.
When I'm not volunteering for the PTA, I am usually watching my kids play sports! My son plays football, hockey, and lacrosse while my daughter is a dancer. If there is any extra time left, I love traveling and exploring new places or reading a book.
Thank you for your trust, and I look forward to working with all of you in the year ahead!
Jen
VP
Frank Fabio
I’m the proud father of Veera, Vincent, and am married to Sally Fabio. When I’m not spending time with my family, you’ll likely find me on the golf course, hunting, fishing, or working on a carpentry or mechanical project.
I enjoy coaching youth sports and helping kids build confidence, teamwork, and character both on and off the field. I’m passionate about giving back to our community and supporting opportunities that help every student succeed. I believe that strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand. I’m excited to serve on the PTA and work alongside parents, teachers, and staff to make a positive impact for our children and their future.

Treasurer
Keith Angstman
Hi! I’m Keith Angstman. I have two girls at Stillwater Middle School, one in eighth grade and one in seventh. After years in a small Colorado mountain town, my family returned to Minnesota in 2016 and eventually found our home in Stillwater in 2018.
This is my third year serving as the PTA’s treasurer. The role fits me well since I’m a professional bean counter too - I provide outsourced corporate accounting services with a metro accounting firm. When I’m not crunching numbers, you’ll usually find me remodeling or building something, sailing in the summer, skiing in the winter, or tucked away with a good book year-round
I’m looking forward to another great year and hope to see you at upcoming PTA events!
Keith
Secretary
Nicole Heggernes
Hello! I am Nicole Heggernes and I have two kiddos in the Stillwater School District. My oldest is now an 8th grader and my youngest is in 4th grade at Rutherford Elementary. My husband Joe and I have lived in the St Croix Valley for most of our lives, but have called Stillwater home since 2014.
I am very excited to be a part of the SMS PTA this year! While this is my first year on the SMS PTA board, I have been a part of the Rutherford PTA since 2018 and have attended SMS PTA meetings over the last few years. I enjoy being a part of the PTA to support the educators, students and community as a whole. Being a part of the PTA helps me understand the schools better and be more involved in my kiddos education experience.
When I am not volunteering with the PTA and around the community, I am watching my son’s basketball games, listening to my daughter’s choir performances, playing golf and mini-golf, dancing with the Larkin Ladies, taking photos and traveling whenever possible.
I cannot wait to see what this year brings!
Nicole
