Who We Are

Father Eugene Savarimuthu is a Catholic Priest and U.S. Army Chaplain originally from India. Born and raised on the southeast coast of India, he was influenced early in life by a strong family foundation in education and faith. His vocation to the priesthood led him to serve the Church for many years before responding to a further call to minister within the military.

After approximately 25 years of priestly ministry, Father Eugene entered the United States Army as a Chaplain, dedicating himself to the spiritual care of Soldiers and their families. His ministry reflects a deep commitment to both his Catholic faith and his vocation to serve those in uniform, embodying the mission of Army Chaplains to care for the spiritual readiness and well-being of the force.

Deacon Robert Straub is a Permanent Deacon serving the cluster parishes of Sacred Heart in Prince George, St. John Nepomucene in Dinwiddie, and St. James the Greater in Hopewell. Prior to his ordination, he served for 20 years in the United States Army, bringing a strong foundation of leadership and service to his ministry.

He holds faculties with the Archdiocese for the Military Services; serving the military community at Fort Lee.

In addition to parish and military ministry, Deacon Bob is active in spiritual formation and community service. He is a spiritual director, a member of the Cursillo movement, and serves as a chaplain for local Fire and EMS, reflecting his deep commitment to accompanying others in both faith and times of need.

Patti Ramos is a Catholic pastoral coordinator serving the United States Army and with the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, where she supports the spiritual life and mission of military faith communities. An Army veteran, she brings a deep understanding of military culture and the unique needs of service members and their families to her ministry.

In addition to her professional role, Patti is an active volunteer with the Military Council of Catholic Women, contributing to faith formation, community outreach, and fellowship among Catholic women connected to the military. Her work reflects a commitment to service, leadership, and fostering a vibrant, faith-filled community within the military Church.
