Over the next five years, I plan to create a culture of reading while enhancing resource accessibility. To begin expanding available resources on the Destiny Discover landing page, I've already added over 30 learning resources to ensure younger learners have access to valuable information and research tools. I will continue supporting Dragon Tales, a diversity-focused reading program for primary learners, while introducing Battle of the Books or a similar initiative for secondary learners. Grow the Library Leaders program by adding more learner and community input into the library. Collection development and procurement will remain guided by diversity audit parameters to continue to grow an even more inclusive library. Maintaining the OPAC will be a priority, ensuring the community can seamlessly access resources records and clearly understand what is available. I aim to reimagine the Dewey Decimal System, making it more user-friendly by reducing the complexity of decimal classifications making it accessible for our youngest learners. My commitment to staff professional development will continue as I advocate for information and research skills as well as digital literacy across all subjects, helping the community strengthen its reading culture for both pleasure and informational purposes. Further collaboration with teachers on projects will remain a focus, alongside building meaningful relationships with both learners and staff to create a more engaging and supportive learning environment.
