The Blue Crabs went out to Newark, Delaware to participate in the Future Starz showcase at the University of Delaware. The Blue Crabs dropped game 1 10-0 and game 2 7-6 before taking game 3 7-1.
In game 1, Carter Cunningham got the start, going 3.0 innings allowing 6 hits and 2 runs with 3 strikeouts. Isaiah Adamson threw 1.1 innings in relief allowing 0 hits and 0 runs with 1 walk. Cody Booth threw 0.2 innings allowing 8 runs, 2 earned, with 5 hits, 4 walks, and 2 strikeouts. The Blue Crabs struggled to get going at the plate, with Braddock Hanson chalking up the only hit.
In a tight game 2, Matthew Walker threw 3.0 innings, allowing 7 runs, 4 earned, with 6 hits and 5 walks. Gabriel Walker threw 0.1 in relief allowing 0 runs and 0 hits on 1 walk. Isaiah Adamson, Kaleb Niebauer, Shane Eastep, Matthew Walker, Hanson, and Cunningham each added a hit with Matthew Walker, Niebauer, Cunningham, and Tommy Becker each added RBIs.
In game 3, Hanson led the Blue Crabs on the bump fanning 5 batters in 4.1 innings only giving up 1 unearned run over 3 hits with 4 walks. Becker threw 1.0 in relief, striking out 1 and walking another. Oqtevious Drummond and Matthew Walker led the team with 2 hits each. Adamson, Niebauer, Gabe Walker, and Booth each also tacked on a hit. Matthew Walker drove in 3 runs while Niebauer drove in 2 and Adamson drove in another.
The Blue Crabs are back in town on September 28th in a single game against Frederick Community College at FCC.
