Project-In-Process Presentation at NTUCCA, Gillman Barracks, Singapore- 2022
This performative Virtual Reality project explores Singapore's iconic modernist shopping malls and the relation between bodies and the urban in 7 different scenarios, sites, and intervention acts. The title being taken from the well-known Chinese literary poet Cao Zhi who was challenged to create a poem in seven steps. In the VR film female performers are taking care of the architecture by cleaning and polishing devices. With the method of performative linguistics the shopping malls are read like a text, creating layers of textures and scenes that traverse the mind, the everyday random encounters that narrate the urban space that encapsulates the invisibility of the lives of its users.
