Section 1 Summary
Mosaik does not collect any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs and contains no network code. Every photo is processed entirely on your device.
Section 2 Face Data
2.1 What face data the app uses. When you open a photo, Mosaik uses Apple's on-device Vision framework (face rectangle detection) to find the position of faces in that photo. The only result is a rectangle (bounding box) and a confidence value per face, used to place a pixelation/blur area over it. Mosaik does not create facial geometry, face prints, face templates or any biometric identifier, does not recognise or identify who a person is, and does not use Face ID or the TrueDepth camera.
2.2 Use. Face rectangles are used for a single purpose: to show and apply the redaction (mosaic, blur, bar or emoji) over faces in the photo you are editing. They are not used for any other purpose, including advertising, profiling, analytics or training of machine-learning models.
2.3 Sharing and storage. Face data is never transmitted off the device and is never shared with us or with any third party. It is held only in the device's memory (RAM) while the photo is open in the editor. It is not written to disk, iCloud, or any server.
2.4 Retention and deletion. Face data is retained only for as long as the photo is open in the editor. It is discarded automatically as soon as you close the editor, finish exporting, or the app is terminated. Because nothing is stored, there is nothing to request for deletion.
Section 3 Photos
Photos you select are read on-device only. The redacted image is saved only where you choose (Photos, Files, or the share sheet). Optionally, Mosaik removes metadata (e.g. location) from the exported image.
Section 4 Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive your payment details.
Section 5 Children
The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
