UTA's April Change Day brought -- for the first time in some years -- a big increase in bus service, including three new routes: the 126, 219, and 417! They're a bit goofy and all weekday-only hourly, but let's take them for a spin!
ITINERARY.
6:00 p.m.: Meet at American Plaza downtown
~6:15: Catch a bus to Salt Lake Central at 200 S & Main
6:36-6:54: FrontRunner from Salt Lake Central to South Jordan
(dilly-dally a bit)
7:17-7:39: Route 219 to EOL at 2200 W & 14400 S
Walk 2.6 miles to a 126 stop
8:59-9:20: Route 126 to Daybreak Parkway
(maybe stop for snacks...)
9:30-10:14 or as convenient: Red Line back to Courthouse
Feel free to join mid-route if that's easier for you!
POST-SLURM NOTES: Through pure skill, the American Plazaers missed the bus to SL Central and had to speedwalk. We had a great time playing Frisbee on our layover at the South Jordan station, and we got a startlingly up-close look at a lot of the homicidal bike infrastructure on Redwood. The sun set during the walking segment, so we used the canal trail by handheld-bike-headlight (there were a lot of little moths and such). We stopped at Monkeywrench downtown in lieu of anywhere in Herriman.
